Charlie Whiting, the Race Director of the Formula 1 and the FIA Safety Delegate: “The Sochi Car-Racing Track Is Ready to Take the Grand Prix of the Formula 1”

The official inspection of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has certified the Sochi car-racing track.

Yesterday, on August 19, 2014, a delegation led by the FIA race director of the Formula 1 and the FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting visited the Sochi car-racing track to assess its readiness for 2014 FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX OF RUSSIA.

- The Sochi car-racing track is ready to take the Grand Prix of the Formula 1, – the press service of the Sochi car-racing track quoted Charlie Whiting’s statement following the visit.

Inspection of the International Automobile Federation examined quality of the race track roadbed, as well as the readiness of the entire infrastructure of the Sochi car-racing track for the Grand Prix of the Formula 1.

Having carefully inspected the Commission decided that the Sochi car-racing track was ready to accept automobile international competitions.

Whiting confirmed that the track for the first in the history of Russia Grand Prix of the Formula 1 was equipped with everything necessary for a safe and spectacular race that would be held on October 12, 2014.
