Holy Ascension Church

Holy Ascension Church is a remarkable architectural creation. The interior painting, rich in Russian themes and emotions, was executed by talented artists who were graduates of the Kiev Art School, followers, and students of Viktor Vasnetsov. The temple, opened in 1916, just before the period when the Bolsheviks came to power, managed to survive despite facing challenges such as revolutionary anti-religious movements and the impact of the Great Patriotic War. It used to be a granary but miraculously avoided destruction. Following the war, the temple underwent restoration, and religious services resumed within its walls.

The golden domes of the temple are visible from every corner of the city, and the beautiful sound of the bells resonates through the air, evoking a sense of peace and tranquility. The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Kurganinsk is now officially designated as a cultural heritage site in Krasnodar region, and it is protected by the state. This temple is a cherished gem of entire Kuban.
